Axiotron Modbook

February 7th, 2008 by Dave

This Modbook has the same functions that the MacBook has. It can be of use to artist students, mobile users and professionals. Because it is pen-based, there is no keyboard or mouse needed because you can directly paint, draw and sketch on the screen. Graphic applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter can be installed to create that perfect image you want. There is also a built in Global Positioning System or GPS that enables mapping, geo-tagging and navigating with just a click. As of now, the Modbook is the only handy Mac solution that has the GPS. With the newest technology in the pen, an individual can sketch and draw right away as soon as he feels like doing it. Because of the cutting edge technology in the pen itself, the strokes and the pressure applied while sketching or drawing is also modified. The pen adapts to whatever movement you do while drawing. NAND Flash Memory is 5 times faster

February 3rd, 2008 by Dave

Each day a lot of companies try to find other ways on how to have an edge over the others. Spending millions of dollars, time and effort is not a big thing for companies because they know that they are investing on something better than what they have now. Also, a lot of people want a faster paced of life and faster technology that can withstand this. In order to keep up with the people, companies specializing in technology and gadgets take this challenge which enables them to push their limits as well as to showcase what they can do.

Just recently, two companies took that giant step in creating yet another speedier gadget that the people may love. They were able to create the NAND Flash Memory, which is five times faster than the current NAND flash that is in the market. With a higher speed, lesser time will be spent in transferring data. This also means that more data can be sent and received without worrying about the process taking too long. In addition, though the speed increase may be partial because of the ONFI 2.0 standards, it still can help individuals a lot.

This newest technology has a read rate of 200MB/sec and a write rate of 100MB/sec that tops over the current 40MB/sec and the 20MB/sec read and write rates respectively. Using the Double Data Rate for signaling and source synchronous clocks realization of higher frequencies are done because of its precise latch signals.

Because of the faster transfer rate, big sized files such as movie and pictures can be transferred into the computer in no time without the hassle of waiting. When this NAND is used with a hard drive, the system can write and read data two or even four times faster than the current hard drives. These are only a few of the many advantages this NAND flash memory can do.

With this integration and more specification such as placing a four-plane architecture and higher speeds for the clocks, Intel and Micron may have a bigger chance to be able to produce some of the fastest NAND chips globally.

Though the said technology was already shown to the public, they still have yet to make the announcement to when this gadget will be distributed and ready for mass consumption. So individuals who want to avail this should keep a look out about its release.
