History
The first commercial mobile phone service was launched in Japan by NTT in 1978. By November 2007, the total number of mobile phone subscriptions in the world had reached
3.3 billion or half of the human population which also makes the mobile phone the most widely spread technology and the most common electronic device in the world.

Mobile phones receive signals from any number of cell sites which are spread over vast area. This are fitted with the microwave antenna. You may normally find them placed on a tall area like a pole or a building or a tower.

The first one to enter the mobile market was Nokia Communicator now known simply as Nokia. It bought cell phones in the market with a very high range. But slowly and gradually the rates fell substantially. The next one to enter the market were Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericson, etc. each of them bought along with them a new technology installed in the cell phone. Currently Nokia is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones.

Mobiles phones usually need a battery and a SIM card to work.SIM card is a small microchip. The SIM Card is usually placed underneath the battery in the rear of the unit. Where as battery is a thing, that gives power to a cell phone.
